Located only 45 minutes away, Jasper is comprised of delicate and carefully protected ecosystems as well as plenty of opportunities for adventure! Hit the slopes at one of the infamous ski facilities, enjoy the thunder of Sunwapta Falls, relish in the serene beauty of Mount Edith Cavell, connect with nature along 1,000-plus kilometres of trails, experience Athabasca Glacier up close or just resign yourself to a relaxing escape.

The Beaver Boardwalk

The Beaver Boardwalk is a unique, wooden pathway that winds it's way through wetlands and a living, fully functioning beaver pond. The Boardwalk features seating areas, an outdoor classroom, interpretive signs and is a great opportunity for people to experience and learn about Mother Nature up close.

The Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre

This giant facility (213, 900 square feet) provides the community with swimming pools, arenas, indoor courts, concession areas, library, meeting rooms, a playground, sports fields, a skateboard park and walking trails all in one location!

Hinton Golf Club

With meandering fairways and tall spruce trees, this spectacular course lies in the forested foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Both scenic and challenging, course yardage ranges from 5433 yards (red) to 6729 yards (blue).

Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre

This world-class Nordic Centre has a 1.5 km lighted cross-country ski trail, which provides wonderful skiing long into the evening. The trails are 10 metres wide and range from distances of 1.25 km to up to 25 km in length.

Brule Sand Dunes

Multiple trails offer hikers, equestrians and off-road vehicle enthusiasts a great view of the Rockies amidst miles of sand dunes.

Emerson Lakes and Hoodoos

This beautiful lake was created by a glacier many centuries ago. The lake is blue-green in colour and is nestled in a valley behind the community of Hinton. While at the lakes, be sure to stop by the Hoodoos, only eight kilometers away.

Miette Hot Springs

You won’t soon forget the drive up the wild Fiddle valley to the hottest mineral springs in the Rockies. Flowing from the mountain at 54°C, the water is cooled to a comfortable temperature of 40°C as it enters the pools.

Ogre Canyon

Ogre Canyon is a very beautiful sight to see. The canyon is a deeply carved cleft in the mountainside. At the base of the cliffs are many sinkholes created by underground streams.

Pocahontas

The name Pocahontas belongs to more than one local attraction. One is the "Indian Head" mountain shape of Roche Miette, appearing as if in full head-dress. Two is the deserted mining town; and three is Pocohontas, a haven for travellers and campers to stay and enjoy all of these scenic views.

Yellowhead Raceway

The Raceway offers a variety of attractions. Come and see the Hobby-Stock and Street-Stock Races, Demolition Derby and more. Races start in May.
